Fixed Income
The Fixed Income Division has two main job roles: Sales and Trading. Each role shares the same training program and attracts similar types of candidates.
Responsibilities

Sales
Fixed income salespeople deal with a wide range of institutional investor clients, such as banks, life and non-life insurance companies, investment management companies, as well as government organizations and corporations. The salespeople build solid relationships with clients by leveraging all the resources available at Nikko Citigroup.
  • The Sales department works together with the Trading department to distribute fixed income securities (e.g. government, corporate, foreign bonds, etc.) in a dynamic fixed income market. Thanks to our extensive global network, the department is always positioned at the top of industry surveys. We also deal with a variety of other products, including futures, derivatives and other structured products.
  • Salespeople seek out market information in order to support clients in developing their investment strategies. They need to possess a wide range of information on markets and products. In addition, they are responsible for maintaining good relationships with clients by providing them with the most appropriate products.
  • Salespeople are in constant contact with clients and are entrusted with the vital role of helping build clients businesses. Since an excellent sales force is indispensable for the success of Nikko Citigroup, we seek a new generation of candidates who will bring fresh ideas and energy to the team.

Traders
Traders buy and sell securities for clients in the midst of changing market conditions. To do this successfully they have to manage long and short positions, anticipate market movements and manage risks associated with their exposure to interest rates, credit spreads and other factors. Given our significant capital base and extensive distribution capabilities, few competitors can match our capacity to undertake any size of trade in bond markets throughout the world.
